Try Scuba

Your first breaths underwater

The Try Scuba program is what is commonly knows as a Try Dive. It is the first introduction to the underwater world with the full scuba diving equipment. It does not require any previous knowledge, however wer recommend that participants are 12 years, or older and are good swimmers or at least very comfortable in the water/sea. This program is divided into two parts. The first part is theoretical and is done on land, the second is a dive from the boat up to 5m deep and 45 minutes long. In this program we include all the diving equipment necessary to do it.

Part 1 – Theory

Since we are entering into an environment that is hostile to humans, diving is considered a risky recreational activity and should be carried out by people with the appropriate skills or under the supervision of a professional. So the first step to get these first breaths is to sit down and get to know the equipment (tank, buoyancy compensator, regulator, etc.) and how it works. During a theoretical introduction of about 15 minutes, a diving instructor explains and teaches the operation of the equipment and the basic diving techniques required to carry out your first dive.

Once the equipment is assembled and the theoretical session is over, we change at our facilities before heading to the boat.

Part 2 – Confined water dive

After arriving at the dive site (Try Scuba dive sites) the instructor will help everyone to put on their scuba gear and will accompany them to the entry. This first dive is done from the boat, but it starts in very shallow waters with a progressive increase in depth, so we start in waters where we can (almost) stand up and then we go down little by little so that everyone is comfortable. During the Try Scuba dive we can feel weightless floating in the sea, we practice basic diving skills and explore the dive site. The entire dive will last approximately 45 minutes and we will reach up to 5 meters of depth.

Congratulations! – Second dive?

After the Try Scuba dive, the program is completed with the creation of a digital recognition card. This card prooves the participation of a Try Scuba, BUT you don't have to stop here. You can do a second dive and reach – if you want – up to 12m depth by doing the Basic Diver.

Basic Diver

The Basic Diver program extends the Try Scuba with a second dive and a temporary certification (6 months). To obtain the certification you only have to complete the two dives and pass the basic skills practice. You can book the Basic Diver directly or take the Try Scuba and upgrade to the Basic Diver afterwards. We have special offers for those customers who choose to do the Basic Diver after having completed the Try Scuba.

The first part is carried out in the same way as in the Try Scuba program. In the second part we concentrate exclusively on the diving skills that we want to learn to obtain the Basic Diver certification.

Part 3 – Boat Dive

As you have learned about the scuba diving equipment, its functions and basic diving skills, you are ready to dive in open waters up to a maximum depth of 12m (if you want). Our boat will take you to a Basic Diver level dive site and with natural depth limitations to not expose you to unnecessary risks. After a dive briefing we get equipped and enter the water.

The dive is planned for a maximum depth of 12m and a duration of 45 minutes. This dive also includes all scuba diving equipment.

Congratulations! – Next step?

Once you have completed your open water dive and passed the required skills, you will become certified as an SSI Basic Diver. Your new certification is valid for 6 months. Within those 6 months you can continue your training obtaining a credit towards the level of SSI Scuba Diver or SSI Open Water DiverWe offer you special discounts to complete your training with us during this period.
