- About Us -

Our diving center is located at Cape Pinar, between the bays of Alcúdia and Pollensa. Just one hundred meters away from the Marina de Bonaire (Puerto Cocodrilo) and with direct access to the bay of Pollensa, it is in the perfect spot between Cape Formentor and Cape Pinar, next to one of the most stunning bays in Mallorca.

Outside, we have a large wet zone with showers and a chill area to relax. Inside, spread over two levels, you will find our reception, rental equipment storage, filling station with a BAUER compressor, changing rooms, toilets, classroom, and shop.

Boat dives are carried out in the surroundings of the two Capes, Pinar and Formentor, with more than 30 dive sites. These include small untouched coves far from mass tourism, subtropical reefs, impressive steep walls, and Mallorca’s specialty: “caverns and caves.” Leaving the Marina of Bonaire (Alcúdia), the way to the dive sites is already a spectacle, passing the cliffs, virgin coves, and the silhouette of the Tramuntana mountain range that ends at Cape Formentor.

History

This prestigious diving center has been around for over 30 years. In the early 2000s, it joined the SKUALO family, expanding and diversifying its range of products across the entire water sports sector. For many years, it operated in two locations, Alcúdia and Can Picafort, offering water activities such as kayaking, paddleboarding, coasteering, and marine cave excursions, in combination with traditional diving activities like dive trips, courses, beginner programs, and snorkeling.

In 2015 Felix A. Spiess arrived who was previously part of the SKUALO Porto Cristo team. With the vision of a diving center offering a wide range of diving and/or diving-related products, as a result a change was initiated to refocus on scuba diving.

Change to SSI

One of those changes was the becoming parto of SCUBA SCHOOLS INTERNATIONAL (SSI) in the same year. Shortly after, in 2017, and in the following three years, the range of products outside the diving sector was reduced, and a complete renovation of the equipment was carried out to offer not only the best equipment provided by MARES but also the most modern. Since then, a constant renewal process has been maintained to continue offering modern, high-quality products.

In 2019 the diving center became an SSI Instructor Training CenterJust after the pandemic, a change of boat was made to improve the comfort of divers on board. Thus, the new boat offers a shaded rest area, an area to gear up, and a diving ladder. All of this together enhances the experience of all divers. More recently, in 2023, the diving center became an  SSI XR centeroffering technical diving courses and especially cave diving.

The difference in the range of products, the abstention from water activities outside of diving, among other reasons, led to the separation from the “SKUALO” group of water activity centers. Thus, in 2024, the diving center “SCUBANEO” was born, maintaining the same approach of recent years under the leadership of Felix
