You haven't tried scuba diving yet?
If this is the case, we recommend that you start your diving adventure with the Basic Diver, an experience designed to give you a taste of scuba diving. Once completed, it can be credited toward your diving course if you choose to continue with us within the following 6 months.
First part: Scuba Diver Course

The entry-level certification is divided into two parts. The first is the Scuba Diver. The Scuba Diver certification consists of three theory chapters, three confined water sessions, and two open water dives.
In the theory part of the course, you will become familiar with the different pieces and components of the equipment. You will learn how to identify them, assemble them, and use them both on the surface and underwater. At the same time, we will cover the basic concepts and laws related to pressure and diving at depths of up to 12 meters. Among these, we will focus on human physiology and the effects that pressure has on the body.
In practice, we will learn basic skills such as establishing good buoyancy, ascending and descending correctly, solving equipment problems, and, finally, how to properly handle a situation without air.
The certification: Scuba Diver
After completing the first part of the course and passing the final theoretical exam, you will earn the SSI Scuba Diver certification. The SSI Scuba Diver qualification does not expire and is certified according to ISO 24801-1, making it valid worldwide. It allows you to dive with a diving professional up to a depth of 12m.
Important: You can upgrade to the Open Water Diver level with us, any SSI dive center, or any globally recognized agency.

What do I have to study?
At the start of the course, we will send you the digital teaching material from our SSI certifying agency. You will have to study the material at home. We will then review the materials in person to resolve any doubts and deepen the knowledge acquired.
How many students are there per instructor? Can a private course be done?
On average, our beginner level courses have 3 participants per instructor. We have a maximum of 4 students per instructor.
If you are a closed group, or prefer to learn on your own with an instructor, you can book a private or VIP course with us.
What is the validity of my diving title/certificate?
SSI (Scuba Schools International) entry-level diving qualifications are recognised worldwide. They are also certified according to ISO 24801.
Where do we meet for the dives, how do I get to the diving center?
For all our activities we meet at the diving center at the time indicated in your booking confirmation. We recommend that you arrive 5 to 10 minutes early. Customers arriving late 10 minutes or more, may be denied boarding.
The diving center is located in Av. Mal Pas 1, 07400 Alcudia, Mallorca (link to Google Maps). Parking is possible on the streets near the diving centre where there is no yellow line. There is also a paid car park a 3 minutes walk away from the diving center.
Guests who do not have their own or rental car can take the bus to Alcudia and walk from there. Alternatively, taxis from Alcudia and Port d'Alcudia usually cost around €10, Playa de Muro around €15 and Puerto Pollença and Can Picafort/Son Baulo around €20.
To order a Taxi we recommend the Official «mallorcab» app.
Can I bring a passenger on the boat?
During the courses we do not recommend taking passengers as a family member or friend can mean additional stress for the student. Regardless of that, it is possible that they get on the boat to do another activity such as snorkel excursion.
Can I join the diving course without previous experience?
We do not recommend that you join the diving course without previous experience. We have designed our activities so that you can try diving with a Diving experience without a certificate and continue with the course afterwards.
What happens if I don't pass the practicals or final exam?
The courses are planned as intensive courses. If you are unable to overcome the skills in the scheduled time, we can add an additional dive for practice as a courtesy.
If you fail the final exam you have a second attempt to make up for it.
If after taking the above steps you are unable to meet the completion requirements, you have the option of booking additional classes in another beginner level course or with a private instructor.
Second part: Open Water Diver course

The second part of the certification is the Open Water Diver. It also consists of three theoretical chapters, three sessions in confined waters, and two dives in open waters.
In the theory portion of this course, we will apply what we have learned in physiology and physics to developing safe dive plans. As new SSI Open Water Divers, we are allowed to dive with other divers of the same level without supervision by a dive professional. Therefore, our main goal is to create safe dive plans and ensure their competent execution. To achieve this, we will cover the different types of dives, proper entries and exits, orientation/navigation, safety aids, and the essentials of a dive briefing.
We will learn that our diving buddy is a fundamental safety tool, as well as a source of more fun. In practice, we will learn how to work as a team with our buddy, how to manage a separation, and how to handle difficult situations. At the end, we will focus on self-rescue skills and towing techniques for an exhausted buddy.
The certification: Open Water Diver
After completing the second part of the course and passing the final theoretical exam, you will earn the SSI Open Water Diver certification. The SSI Open Water Diver certification does not expire and is accredited according to ISO 24801-2, making it valid worldwide. It allows you to dive with another diver of the same level or a more advanced diver, up to a depth of 18m.
