Try Scuba: The scuba diving initiation with one dive
Your first breaths underwater
The Try Scuba program is what is commonly known as a Try Dive. It is the first introduction to the underwater world with full scuba diving equipment. It does not require any prior knowledge; however, we recommend that participants be at least 12 years old and comfortable in the water, with good swimming skills. We conduct this program from Alcúdia (Mallorca), dividing it into two parts. The first part is theoretical and takes place on land, while the second is a dive from the boat, up to 5 meters deep and lasting 45 minutes. All necessary diving equipment is included in the program.
Part 1 – Theory
Since we are entering into an environment that is hostile to humans, diving is considered a risky recreational activity and should be carried out by people with the appropriate skills or under the supervision of a professional. So the first step to get these first breaths is to sit down and get to know the equipment (tank, buoyancy compensator, regulator, etc.) and how it works. During a theoretical introduction of about 15 minutes, a diving instructor explains and teaches the operation of the equipment and the basic diving techniques required to carry out your first dive.
Once the equipment is assembled and the theoretical session is complete, we get changed at our facilities before heading to the boat.
2nd part - Try Scuba dive in confined waters
After arriving at the dive site (Try Scuba dive sites) the instructor will help everyone put on their scuba gear and accompany them to the entry point. This first dive is done from the boat but begins in very shallow water with a gradual descent, starting in an area where you can (almost) stand and slowly going deeper so that everyone feels comfortable. During the Try Scuba dive, you’ll experience the feeling of weightlessness as you float in the sea, practice basic diving skills, and explore the dive site. The entire dive lasts approximately 45 minutes, reaching a maximum depth of 5 meters.
Congratulations! – Second dive?
After completing the traditional Try Dive program “Try Scuba”, the experience is finalized with the creation of a digital recognition card. This card proves your participation in a Try Scuba, but you don’t have to stop there. You can continue with a second dive and, if you wish, reach depths of up to 12 meters by completing the Basic Diver program.

Basic Diver – the initiation with two dives
The Basic Diver program extends the traditional Try Dive (Try Scuba) with a second dive and includes a temporary certification valid for 6 months. To obtain the certification, you simply need to complete both dives and successfully perform the basic skills. You can book the Basic Diver directly or start with the Try Scuba and upgrade afterward. We offer special deals for customers who choose to do the Basic Diver after completing the Try Scuba.
The first part is conducted in the same way as in the Try Scuba program. In the second part, we focus exclusively on the diving skills required to earn the Basic Diver certification.
3rd Part – Basic Diver Dive in Open Water
As you have learned about scuba diving equipment, its functions, and basic diving skills, you are now ready to dive in open water to a maximum depth of 12 meters (if you choose to). Our boat will take you to a dive site and with natural depth limitations to avoid exposing you to unnecessary risks. After a dive briefing, we gear up and enter the water.
The dive is planned for a maximum depth of 12 meters and a duration of 45 minutes. All scuba diving equipment is included.
Congratulations! – And after the initiation?
Once you have completed your open water dive and demonstrated the required skills, you will be certified as an SSI Basic Diver. This certification is valid for 6 months, during which you can continue your training and receive credit toward the level of SSI Scuba Diver or SSI Open Water Diver. We offer special discounts if you choose to complete your training with us during this period.
